About The Australian Bulldogs Kennel Club

I have opened this new Australian Bulldog club/registry with several aims. Firstly is to give everyone a fair go and not have special treatments for those in favour.
Secondly is to have a modern well designed website that is in touch with todays marketing. Breeders invest a lot of time and money and would love to see thier efforts marketed in a modern way.
Finally this club is about breeding the best Australian Bulldogs and staying within the original breed standards. Non conforming dogs will not be allowed to breed in this club! That is hard but in the end it is going to be the best for breeders and buyers alike!

 

Breed Rules

Our mission is simple:

"Only the best dogs and breeding as a speciality"

Our rules are being worked on at the moment and many aspects are being taken into consideration.
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act:
Our club foremostly stands for the welfare of all our dogs and the dogs we breed. Any breeder seeking to become a member of ABKC (The Australian Bulldogs Kennel Club) will be asked to read this act and agree to abide by these laws. I know other clubs assume the breeders know these rules where we will do everything we can to make sure our breeders do.
Other education information:
Education information will be distributed to all breeders as well, like the Dangerous Dog Act, Inbreeding coefficients (As highlighted with TV shows in Great Britain and Australia), Heritable defects that cause Disease etc etc. I plan to make this clubs breeders second to none with ethics and knowledge through our education material. Most breeders start with a pet and then 2 and lo and behold they become breeders. With no knowledge of diseases, heridtry of animals, cruelty laws or consumer affairs laws they sell thier pups and both sides hope all goes well. When it doesn't it usually goes horribly wrong!

Ethics in Breeding:
I plan to have a code of conduct to take the hit and miss approach from dealing with customers and our dogs buyers. Having bought many dogs and experienced what it is like dealing with cowboys as I call them, this is one area the club needs to show more leadership and make it easy for customers and breeders alike! There are rules and laws for selling and buying dogs and they are consumer affairs laws. I also believe to stand behind what we breed and NOT leave the customer in the lurch!
All our breeders agree to these rules and have agreed to abide by them. There will be health problem guidlines for our breeders as well. Read Our Ethics Rules(coming soon)
